One of the corporate functions that stands to benefit the most from the subscribe model enabled by RSS is field sales.
Earlier this year I built a proof-of-concept service that pulled leads out of Salesforce.com and delivered them in a personalized, secure RSS feed. The article I wrote about it drew a lot of interest, but I wasn't ready to do more with it at the time. Now I am.
I've rewritten the code, put it on a dedicated secure server, and am now looking for a handful of people who use both Salesforce.com and an RSS aggregator to help me test it. I'll also be looking to those people to help me understand what kind of information would be most useful to deliver from Salesforce via RSS. (If you have a suggestion but don't want to participate in testing the system, please leave a comment with your idea.)
If you're interested, email me with the phrase "Salesforce beta" in the subject. To participate, you must have a valid Salesforce.com login and access to an RSS aggregator that supports secure feeds. Also, your organization must use Salesforce Enterprise Edition.
